Research activities:
My research focuses on geophysical fluid dynamics, with particular emphasis on the atmosphere and the ocean.
I am especially interested in tropical cyclones, which are among the most spectacular atmospheric phenomena
and also among the most complex in terms of ocean–atmosphere interactions.
My work investigates their internal dynamics and their interaction with the ocean,
from the mechanisms governing their formation and intensification to their impacts on coral islands,
in particular through the study of cyclone-induced waves. My approach combines numerical modelling—based on simplified physical equations under specific approximations—
with the analysis of observational data, both satellite-based and in situ.
